Just wanted to share something that happened a minute ago with my mom. I was helping her out with some school stuff and this is what happened over email…

….Yup…I was just out-cooled by my mom….I need to get with it.

Happy Halloween!!!

Yayyy! It’s officially the best Holiday ever!! Here’s the low-down of what I’ve gotten under control and what I still need:

Costume #1: (needed for the Here Come the Mummies Show at the Vogue tonight)

-Thought I’d hit up the Halloween stores and see what was on sale- thankfully Walmart was having a 50% off sale on Halloween stuff so I ended up going with an $8 Slutty Nun Costume!

This literally IS the costume I bought- so it’s not too slutty and it was only 8 dollars! (WIN!) Plus I went ahead and got 2 pairs of fake lashes since they were on sale- 1 for tonight and 1 for tomorrow. ($1.50 each)

So that costume is all taken care of and shouldn’t take long to get ready since I have about 20 minutes in which to do so.

Costume #2: Kim from Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I Have:

-Huge Ring

-Amazingly perfect shirt borrowed from one Jamie Sullivan that is totally Kim

-Boots

I Need:

-WIG! I went to 3 Halloween stores today to find a wig- NOTHING. I may be boned in this one. I found the most perfect one but didn’t buy it because I wanted to wait until it went on sale. So I’m going back to the store I found it at on Saturday but I’m scared I wont find it. Worse case scenario I find something and make it work but that could potentially throw the whole costume off.

I have learned my lesson about procrastinating.

-Skirt of some kind- I have stuff but in losing all this weight basically all of my clothes are hanging off of me now (I know, I know- great problem to have- BUT tell that to my wallet that can’t afford to buy new clothes every time I lose a pants size) so I may have to pony up for that.

(BTW– Subway Jared- I know you live in Indy so if you could bring me some subway for lunch..that’d be great)

-To figure out my KIM make up- the good news is I don’t have buy anything for that- just figure out how to do it.

(ohh…so airbrush and paint roller…that shouldn’t be too hard)

So really- If I end up buying a wig, that ring, and a skirt- 2 of the 3 are re-usable and I knocked out a $8 Nun costume- I’d say this will be the cheapest Halloween I’ve ever had! Not bad at all!!

Great stuff- I’m soo freaking excited! I’ve always dreamed of Halloween lasting all week long. And just for the record- next year it’s starting on Thursday and going until Sunday.

OH! Also exciting news: Allie may be getting another dog this weekend so I may have someone to go on walks with soon enough! That’s exciting!(I may or may not also do this to the dog)

Also- great night last night with Ellen- yes high school friends- Ellen Van Zanten and I are killin’ Indy in style and all of you need to bite the bullet and move down here already! (Kaira, Ash, Ang- I’m looking at YOU) I’ll help you unload the boxes.

Last night had a wild time! Roommate Allie and I thought we’d celebrate Wednesday in style by hitting up the town.  Since I moved in (all 6 days ago) she’s been talking about Retro-Rewind at the Vogue. It’s 80’s/90’s music and fun dancing.  So we met up with some of her friends- super awesome ladies and a lad- and went over. Seriously had the BEST time! We were dancing our faces off, even though it was Wednesday tons of people were in costumes (including an awkward serenade from girl dressed at Kurt cobain lip-syncing Smells like Teen Spirit)

and everyone was having fun. SO THEN! I had a cup and went to set it on the bar and there is this bouncer by the bar who grabs my arm and pulls me up this set of stairs that lead onto the top of the bar. Then grabs a few of the girls we were with and shoves them up there too- and goes “Dance!” LOL! So we did! For like 3 or so songs we are dancing on the bar! (How very coyote ugly of us!)

Don’t worry mom- they had a bar to hold onto so you wouldn’t fall- I was very safe!  Totally crazay! So much fun though- I’m sold on Retro-Rewind for life! Then Allie and I hit up Hot Box Pizza for breadsticks- made friends with some nice lesbian girls from Kentucky, then went home. I didn’t stop laughing the entire night.

Still getting the hang of the single life- I think I was worried that it would be hard but I also think I’m starting to realize that I’m not going to meet the love of my life in a bar so I need to get over that idea. And instead just have fun- it takes a lot of pressure off when you’re not looking for anything but to have fun with your friends.  I’ve had a few guys ask me WHY I was single- that question makes me laugh a little bit. Like…why are any of us single? Why are YOU single sir? And if I were a nut-bag cat-loving meth addict…you think I’d tell you on a first date? LOL nahhh..that’s more of a 3rd date thing.

Gatta get my butt in gear for Halloween! I’m SOOO behind- I might be shopping last minute on Saturday because I haven’t had a second to breathe this week! So cross your fingers for the magic of Kim to come out! Though today I did find my “Big Papa Ring” at Forever 21….

OH! Also- took advantage of South West’s mega deal they had going on and bought tickets to go see Kate for a few days in January. Super geeked!

Blockbuster- you have failed me

Went after work last night to go and rent the Exorcist- my chosen 1 scary movie of the year for Halloween. I get there and had a small feeling that maybe it might already be rented out so I had mentally prepared for that.

What I hadn’t mentally prepared myself for was that they would have the following options…

-The Exorcist: The Beginning

-The Exorcist II

And….that’s it.

……yup…..

So I go to the front thinking “Surely it’s just in a special Halloween display”. The boy at the counter types in the info and goes “oh…huh..yeah we don’t carry that”.

Now…I’m no movie snob. I don’t swear by the cinematic classics, and I don’t generally care one way or the other what movies people choose to watch…but if you’re Blockbuster…wouldn’t you be embarrassed to be carrying the Exorcist II but not have the original??? I mean- that’s like having a cup-cake shop that doesn’t have white cup-cakes but has the paper cups that you put them in…that’s what that’s like…RIDICULOUS!

So I make a quick call to Ryno and we decide on a different scary movie.  I go to use my blockbuster card and forgot that it was an account taken out with idiot ex boyfriend and it had a $42 balance on it from stupid stuff he never returned. So I had to set up my own account (which is a good move anyway) and that took forever.  So basically 30 minutes later- I return with Blair Witch Project, no Exorcist- it’s raining and I am no further to my goal of knocking out movies I’m scared of but was willing to see. SO Ryan and Daniel and I are going to give it another shot later and hopefully figure out where to find it. I still stand by my original stance of NOT buying it- that would be insane. (I’m onto your game Linda Blair and I’m NOT being sucked into it!)

So Blockbuster video- if you read my blog (which I’m sure you do) you maybe want to re-evaluate how you stock your shelves- because I’m pretty sure you’ve got about 12 movies starring Paris Hilton and no Exorcist…I don’t even want to be the person who says this to you- because it’s not very nice…

But..I bet Netflix has it…

Downtown smells like one big french fry today…

Hmm..what else is new?  I’m excited about cooking in my kitchen! I had all my cooking stuff in boxes for a while and I used to cook all the time. Then I had a roommate that wouldn’t eat anything I cooked (not you Ryno) and then I had a roommate who was lovely but COULDN’T eat anything I cooked (YOU, Ryno lol), and then I had a roommate who I didn’t see very often so we only cooked together once or twice, and NOW I have a roommate who is around and we can cook! LOL fun stuff!

Tonight braving the Exorcist- so I’m trying to gear myself up for it! I think maybe I’ll make some food or something for it so I’ll feel more hostessy and less scared crapless-y. LOL

Getting ready also for Halloween- I think on Wednesday after work is when I need to start getting all the pieces of my costume…since I should have gone last night and just didn’t. Moving to a new place in town is always a bit of a challenge for me because I have to learn where everything is…

I’m telling you..my life is rough.  Thankfully I’ve located 2 Krogers in my area so I just have to hunt for the rest of those things…and I have to find the Exorcist..I’m NOT buying it though- no freaking way is Linda Blair allowed in my house to live! I don’t want to see that DVD walking down my steps and pissing on the floor during my dinner parties. NO WAY.

I think the funniest thing to do is to be irrationally nasty and mean about funny things. Example:

I just sent my sister an email because I remembered this really good pasta she and her husband made for me once that I wanted the recipe to. So I sent her an email calling her a whore and telling her to give it to me now and stop hiding it from me!!  And that I would hold hostage a book of hers that she wanted back. Hehe…I love it.  I hope she gets the humor and doesn’t send poisonous spiders through the mail to my house…in fact..I’m sort of sorry I told her my new address because now she can do just that…Kate..please don’t do that…

(*whispers: I’m sorry I yelled…)

So maybe you should try it on your own friends and family! (only the ones who have good senses of humor- otherwise count yourself out of all family get-togethers from now on!) Don’t be all “Grandma, you slut! Make me a quilt!” because…that’s a terrible idea.

DO be all “1 month old cousin Tommy- why are you SO RUDE!? I can’t even TALK to you anymore!!” Hehe…funny.

OK- I’m going to go practice on people I know…I sort of wish Amber Stearns was here- I’d do that on her but she went home early today.  You’re lucky Stearns- you escaped my wrath today..but tomorrow is another day…(isn’t that a James Bond movie?..either way..I’ll take it!)

All shacked up!

The move is finally done and I’m super excited! Everything went great on Saturday-I made 2 trips and Russ and Mitt got all of my big things in one load.  Then I worked my tail off all weekend so basically my stuff is all put away with the exception of storage stuff in the garage that Allie and I are going to work on organizing. SO yay! I really had underestimated how amazing it is to sleep on a mattress that is on a box spring AND a frame! Seriously! It was the best two nights of sleep I’ve had in a looong time! I feel like I am sleeping in the Hotel Indigo or something!

Feeling so great too about not having all of my stuff in boxes anymore. Just unpacking my books made me the happiest person! I missed knowing where my things were and having access to them whenever I wanted.  Plus living with Allie is fun- we’re already girlin’ it up and it’s only been a few days!

Lots of fun this weekend- too- especially seeing all my friends on Saturday! It’s been forever since we’ve all gone out together and getting to see Heath and Ashley finally was awesome! I’ve missed those guys! They even came along when I set off our houses alarm system- ALL Heath’s fault! But I wasn’t going to let him pee in my front yard after I JUST moved in.

Then we hit up Broad Ripple afterwords- and those were just silly times.  Hehe. Also got to see Dan & Lisa’s new house- Joe and I tested out the sound proof room full of Val Kilmer piss…not as sound proof as it looks fyi.

This week is going to be fun- watching scary movies, I get to see Ellen, and HALLOWEEEEEEENNNN!!! It’s a two night event for this girl here! Plus: I’m double-costuming it too! One costume for one night- another for the next! I love this holiday more than any other! Caught up on a ton of Real Housewives of Atlanta for my costume preparation!

Moving this weekend- I’m pretty excited about it! I am mostly packed up but you know how moving goes. You think “oh- all I have are just these few things” and then forget that your TV needs to go, and the table its sitting on, and all those clothes you insisted on hanging onto until the last second in case you wanted to wear them on Friday (and the shoes), and your food in the kitchen, oh yeah- and that older computer you swore you’d do something with before you moved, and don’t forget about the laundry you still have to do…yeah- I’m a pretty good mover and I STILL feel un-prepared.

Thankfully I have all day on Saturday so I’m hoping that getting up wicked early I can take a load over before my professional moving crew (aka- Russ and Oven Mitt) come over to move the big things. (And yes- the stone Dutch Children are coming too! Even though I told them the last two times I moved that this was the last time I was hauling each of their 50oo pound butts into my car.)

So tonight I’m going to spend some time with friends and then back to the movin’ business.  Maybe I’ll even bring over more stuff tonight when its late?….LOL- I’m insane.

I’m ready to move- but I must say that if it hadn’t been for Russ I would have been super-homeless and I can’t ever thank him enough for that.  I of course got myself into a situation where I was supposed to move in with someone and it wasn’t meant to be and had Russ not stepped in and offered me a room I don’t know what I would have done. Plus it also gave me time to find an amazing roommate like Allie- because I may have been living with a Craigslist roommate named Helga and her 47 cats.

Who knows?  So mega thanks to Russ for being an awesome roommate and an amazing friend.

Ugh- Tonsils giving me grief again…I’m pretty sure this is what they look like right now..

I hope my doctor isn’t reading this because I know she’s going to try and get in there and take them from me. Maybe I’ll schedule a tonil-outting near Christmas so my family can come and feel bad for me That sounds like a Christmas to remember! Right?

My whole family, gathered around me, I’m strung with lights and popcorn on strings, and they sing me carols and give me presents…lots and lots of them…yup…sounds perfect…A Christmas miracle!

OK- well wish me luck on moving and unpacking! I’m going to need it because there wasn’t plenty of stuff that hasn’t been un-boxed since July so it’ll be a fun trip. Sorry no new post today

This causing a slight problem on most of our interstates today…it’s going to be a looong commute and a long day for Nikki Reed.

Basic info: a tanker full of propane flips over and explodes right around the busiest area of our interstate and it could be a long time before it’s fixed because it was right under a bridge- knocked out a pillar and compromised the bridge.

A huge murder trial we’ve been following on WIBC recieved a verdict today.

And huge FFA convention in town, 50,000 high school kids in our city and one of them, a 16 year old boy fell from the 3rd floor of our down-town mall down to the bottom.
